To The Lighthouse

Keeper of darkness, not light. This is what I think when I think about lighthouses. In fact, I'm working on a novella right now that is set in a lighthouse on a fictional island off Maine. The occulting of the light passes through love and pain, sanity and madness, isolation and beauty. "I think there is no innocent landscape, that doesn't exist." Anselm Kiefer, German painter. In fact, it was his painting "The Orders of the Night" that set this novella in motion.
