biography

Allister Timms was born in Carmarthen, Wales, a town known for its connection with the Arthurian wizard, Merlin. He has also lived in Ireland and now makes his home in midcoast Maine. He earned his MFA in creative writing from Stonecoast at the University of Southern Maine. He is currently Professor of English at Husson University in Bangor, Maine, where he teaches literature, rhetoric, and composition. Allister previously worked for many years as an editor for Down East Magazine and Books, an established New England publication. His short stories and essays have appeared in the Lowestoft Chronicle, Penguin Random House anthology Timeshares, Down East magazine, L-A Magazine, and Miami Living.
