News from nowhere

The initial blog. The hand on the curtain ready to move it aside and step onto the flood-lit stage. The nervous animal at the lip of its burrow. What’s he anxious about? The first impression? It’s always less than the shadow it casts. The everything & the nothing. What theme, what motif, what image, what direction, what cock crow? Never mind. Keep it lit. Follow in the footsteps of Tradition and Individual Talent “…only those who have personality and emotions know what it means to escape from those things.” If a ship never leaves its harbour, can it be called a “ship”? The words here will be for something, not against something. A sharpening of the tool, perhaps. More rough beast than perfect pedigree that shivers to death in the crude house of making, always with leaking roof, chimney, a place for crows, windows small, but what a view! And the door. You’ve got to find it. The thing about doors, real doors, is that they are tricky and not easy to spot until you’ve passed through them and only then can you discover the outline, recognize the liminal in the quotidian.
